Rubber,(isoprene,C
5H
8)is an organic compound which
consists of Carbon and Hydrogen.
This single unit of isoprene is called a monomer.
These monomers join together via a condensation
reaction, (loss of a water molecule) to form a polymer.
This polymer is a large number of these monomer chains
joined together and is then called polyisoprene.
