Mendelevium

Mendelevium was discovered in 1955 by A. Ghiorso and co-workers in Berkely, California. It is named after Dimitri Mendeleev who devised the first periodic table. Only a few radioactive atoms have ever been created by bombarding Einsteinium and Helium together.
