Plutonium

This element was discovered by Glenn Seaborg in 1940 in Berkley, California. It is named after the planet Pluto. The element is a man-made silvery, radioactive metal which is extracted from spent nuclear rods in tonnes. However, it can also be used as nuclear fuel or even in nuclear weapons. It is dangerously radioactive and has a half life of 1000 years.
