This element was discovered A. Ghiorso in 1974 in Berekeley, California. It is named after Glenn Seaborg, the american nuclear chemist. Only a few atoms of this radioactive, man-made atoms have been made and is only used for research purposes. The chemistry of the atom is very similar to tungsten.
