Equations to explain the behaviour of gases:

  1. pV=nRTThis is the ideal or perfect gas law
  2. real gas law v over n = vm van der walls
    vm = v over n
    This is the real gas law or Van der Waals equation

  3. mole%20fraction
    This is an equation which can be used to calculate mole fraction. Where nA is equal to the number of moles of A and nB is equal to number of moles of B

  4. pa=xa x pThis equation can be used to calculate the partial pressure within a gas. Where xA is the mole fraction of gas A and p is equal to the total pressure of the gas therefore pA is equal to the pressure gas A exerts in a mixture of gases.
