About Me

My name is Voirrey Lee Robinson and I am 19 years old. I am studying for a Masters in Chemistry at the University of Sheffield. I am originally from Sheffield although my hometown is now a small town called Morpeth in Northumberland. Chemistry is my passion but I am also very musical and enjoy playing the piano, alto saxophone and penny whistle amoungst other instruments. I am also a first year rep on the Chemistry Society at the University of Sheffield. I hope you enjoy exploring my website and find it useful.

You can contact me by e-mail on cha03vlr@sheffield.ac.uk

About my Website

I have chosen to write my website on Transition Metal Catalysis. My interest began when we touched on the subject of Transition Metals at A-Level Chemistry. My interest then developed further during a series of lectures called d- and f-block elements at degree level. I also had further introductions to the subject in inorganic labs at degree level. However one area of Transition Elements that we haven't studyed much is catalysis. I decided I thought it would be interesting and would extend my current knowledge of Transition Elements. This is why I have chosen to study Transition Metal Catalysis.
